Isfahan is set to host one of the major international events at the intersection of cinema and tourism. The VISTA International Cinema & Tourism Festival will be held in Isfahan by Simorgh Khatera Tara Film Institute, with the aim of showcasing tourism potential through the art of cinema.
The festival is headed by Yaser Ahmadi, film director, producer, and CEO of Simorgh Khatera Tara Film Institute. With an international outlook, the festival seeks to introduce Iran’s culture, historical heritage, natural attractions, and tourism potential to the global community through the universal language of cinema.
Alongside the festival, Isfahan will also serve as the representative of the Islamic Republic of Iran within the global network of tourism film festivals, CINETOUR. According to the current plans, an international meeting of the network will be held in Isfahan, bringing together festival directors, professionals from the cinema and tourism industries, and representatives from dozens of countries around the world.
CINETOUR is one of the leading international networks in the field of cinema and tourism. It works to strengthen cultural cooperation, support the production of tourism-related audiovisual works, promote cultural diplomacy, and foster connections among specialized festivals around the world.
Hosting the VISTA festival and the international CINETOUR meeting will provide a valuable opportunity to showcase the exceptional potential of Iran, particularly the historic city of Isfahan, to the world. With its thousands of historical sites, remarkable architecture, traditional crafts, rich cultural heritage, art, nature, and vibrant culture, Isfahan stands among the world’s significant tourism destinations and can offer international audiences a distinctive and lasting image of Iran through cinema.
Under the motto “See the Unseen,” VISTA International Cinema & Tourism Festival seeks to build a bridge between cinema, culture, and tourism, while creating a platform for interaction among filmmakers, artists, tourism professionals, and cultural leaders from around the world.
